I. Basic Product Information

Physicochemical properties

Form: Pink liquid

Stability: Stable in neutral and weakly alkaline conditions; slowly decomposes under prolonged stirring at pH > 11; rapidly deactivated in strong acid.

Frothing: Has mild self-frothing ability, but conventional flotation requires dedicated frothers (2# oil, MIBC, etc.).

Toxicity: Low toxicity, less irritating than xanthate, mild corrosivity.

II. Applicable Ores and Flotation Advantages

Suitable ores

Copper-sulfur ores / arsenic-bearing copper ores (chalcopyrite, bornite) – efficient separation from pyrite and arsenopyrite, yielding high-grade copper concentrate with low sulfur impurities.

Lead-zinc polymetallic sulfides – selective lead flotation while depressing unactivated sphalerite; preferred for Cu-Pb bulk flotation and Cu-Pb separation.

Nickel-cobalt sulfides – collects pentlandite and millerite; suitable for low-grade nickel comprehensive recovery.

Molybdenite – often combined with aromatic oils for selective rougher collection of molybdenum, reducing copper-sulfur carryover.

Associated gold/silver ores – strong affinity for native gold and electrum; micro-fine gold/silver recoveries significantly higher than with xanthate or conventional dithiophosphates.

Core flotation advantages

Strong selectivity: Very weak collecting power for pyrite and pyrrhotite in alkaline pulp; under YTO01 depression, iron-sulfur minerals barely float, greatly reducing concentrate impurities.

Fast flotation kinetics: Superior to xanthate and butyl ammonium dithiophosphate; shortens rougher time and increases throughput.

Low dosage: At same recovery, reagent consumption is only 60%–80% of butyl xanthate.

Good fine-particle performance: Stable collection for –10 μm fine sulfides, reducing metal losses.

Moderate froth texture: Cleaner froth collapses easily, simplifying dewatering and filtration.

IV. Storage, Safety, and Wastewater Treatment

Storage & transport

Liquid form: plastic IBC/200 L plastic drums; protect from freezing and direct sunlight; do not store long-term in metal containers.

Do not store together with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, or bleaching powder.

Operational protection

Contact: Wear rubber gloves and goggles; avoid skin/mucous membrane contact. Rinse with clean water for 10 min upon contact.

Ventilation: Maintain forced ventilation in reagent preparation and flotation areas; avoid inhaling vapors.

Fire safety: Combustible. Use dry powder or foam extinguishers; do not use direct water jets on reagent.
